ArtfulTea: ‘a passion for tea in every cup’

When ArtfulTea reached out to me a few months ago, I was excited to partner with them and review some blends they wanted to send me. What stood out most about this New Mexico-based company was their unique flavors, and especially the fact that they had purple tea. In those post I’m going to talk about a few of the kinds of teas they’ve sent me in their sampler, which is a great way to get to know their teas.

Purple teas

Though I love tea and have tried many different kinds, I had never heard of purple tea. But I tried their Lychee flavor and a plain purple leaf tea, and really enjoyed the taste of both.

The plain purple tea, just comprised of leaves, tastes almost like an oolong — a happy medium between black and green tea.

On its own, the lychee purple leaf steeps to a golden brown hue, and has a sweet and slightly fruity flavor, with a slight earthiness to it. When lemon juice is added, purple teas take on a more rosy color. And the tartness balances out the sweetness of the lychee blend.

Citrus Sonata Oolong

Bright and clean tasting, with a somewhat buttery flavor, Citrus Sonata Oolong is a refreshing afternoon blend. I tasted notes of grapefruit and lemon, which complimented the tea’s flavors really well.

Linda’s Lemon Ginger Green Tea

I love most tea blends with ginger in them, and Linda’s Lemon Ginger Green Tea didn’t not disappoint. Citrusy with a spice to it, this soothing blend tasted like summertime in my cup.

ArtfulTea sent me six blends, and these are just the ones I’ve tried so far, but my first company is that this company offers unique and delicious tea flavors that are accessible to all levels of tea drinkers.

Let me know in the comments which of these teas you’d most want to try!

  1. All of these blends sound amazing! I’ve seen Artful Tea on Instagram and Facebook over the last few months but never actually took the plunge and ordered. I think I’ll have to check them out at some point

  2. Thank you, Stephanie, for your thoughtful review of our teas! We are so pleased you enjoyed them. We’re glad we could be the ones to introduce you to Purple Leaf tea! Many thanks, once again.
