Life can be really difficult sometimes. It’s important to take care of yourself and find joy, even when it feels impossible. That’s why I got so excited when I stumbled upon Tea Hee Hee!
All of their packaging is super punny and sassy, and all of their tea tags all have a joke on them. It’s a great combination of two of my favorite things — laughter and leaves. Adding a laugh to my morning (or afternoon, or evening — yes, I have a tea addiction) cup is so therapeutic and fun.
They sent me two samples to try, and so far I’ve tried their calm energy herbal blend, “The Early Bird.” With Yerba Mate, Guayusa, Ginger Root, Peppermint, Green Tea and Lemongrass, this blend was tasty, slightly smoky, but also fruity.

Q: Can you give me some background on Tea Hee Hee?
A: Tea Hee Hee is a NYC-based tea brand with a sense of humor! It was created to make people smile. We do this by incorporating fun packaging with jokes and puns on each and every tea tag.
Q: Where did the idea come from to combine humor and tea?
A: With a name like Tea Hee Hee you you HAVE to include humor! The name inspired the
idea. I think that most of the time when people think of tea they don’t think funny and quirky, so Tea Hee Hee does that. Tea Hee Hee helps lighten the mood and has fun with it.
Q: How long has the company been around, and how has it changed over time?
A: The company has been around a little over a year now. We celebrated our first birthday this past August. As far as change we are in the middle of adding a few more blends in the upcoming months!
Q: How do you come up with the jokes and puns for the tea tags? Are they all tea related?
A: I’m huge fan of dad jokes and corny humor, so it coming up with the jokes and puns was second nature.
I would say 90% of them are tea related, but that’s only because the 10% that were not, were too good to pass up on!

Q: Where does your tea come from?
A: The blends in our current line are herbal, so it really depends what herbs are in the blend that give it it’s origins. For example, one of the main herbs in The Early Bird is Guayusa. Guayusa is an amazing energy plant and is only grown in the Amazonian region of South America. So it really depends on herb that give it it’s origin.
Q: How do you come up with your blends, and what is the process like for creating them?
A: There was ALOT of research and sampling of different herbal variations with friends and family. After we finalized the recipes, we worked with our co-packers to source the herbs and pack them into the fun-loving packages we currently offer.
Q: Tea is an act of self care in itself, but adding jokes seems to take it to the next level. What do you want people to get out of their Tea Hee Hee experience?
A: Tea is really an amazing plant! Did you know that tea only comes from one plant – Camellia Sinensis which contains an amino acid called L-Theanine. This amino acid helps to elevate serotonin and dopamine levels! So yes there is definitely some self love that comes with every sip. I hope people have a fun, light hearted experience with Tea Hee Hee.
