I promise that I will get back on a regular posting schedule soon! Last weekend we made a quick trip back to Michigan for a wedding, but things are starting to slow down now so I am finally falling into a routine of sorts. I finally found some time this week to do a tea review, even though it had to go up at the end of the week — had to get in one last post to wrap up September (I can’t believe it’s already October).
Today I’m doing a post about some tea from Fox Tea Club! This company is newer, and when they reached out to me about trying some of their blends I took a look at their Instagram posts, and was really excited. They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but I don’t necessarily believe in that for tea. Just look at the adorable packaging adorned in cute foxes!
Fox Tea Club sent me multiple kinds of tea that I’m excited to try, but today’s post focuses on their orange cookie black tea blend. Upon opening the packaging, the first thing I noticed about this tea was the huge dried orange rinds. Unlike some teas that having orange flavoring, I was excited to see the whole, truly natural ingredients in this blend.
This tea is light, citrusy and spicy. Unlike other orange teas I’ve had, this one isn’t bitter. It has the slightest sweetness to it, even when I steeped it for more than five minutes. Cloves and cinnamon make it a great fall drink, and mesh well with the orange flavors, including the black tea itself.
To me, this tea is very cozy and comforting — the equivalent of a favorite warm, comfy sweater. It’s like a hug in a cup. Lately I’ve been reading up a lot on the “hygge” aspect of Danish lifestyle. This tea is great for waking up in the early afternoon, though while it’s black tea, the caffeine level is not too strong.
