Tea review: DavidsTea Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy TEa 1

Cotton Candy Tea is DavidsTea’s blend of the month! I’ve been seeing it around Instagram among the tea loving crowd, and knew I had to try it. I was near a DavidsTea last week, so I stopped by for a sample and decided to buy some.

This rooibos tea is sweet, and in my opinion, needs no further sweeteners. I prepared it hot, but they had an iced sample at the store that was also good. In the near future I’m looking forward to making this into a latte though, because I know it would be amazing that way (and they even say so on their website, will let you guys know on Instagram when I make that).

Ingredients: Green rooibos, sprinkles (sugar, salt, artificial flavouring , red 3, blue 1), mango (mango, sugar, citric acid, sulfur dioxide), brittle (sugar, hazelnuts, invert sugar), natural and artificial flavoring.

The tea accidentally overflowed out of my strainer and got all over the cup 😦

Since this tea has artificial flavoring, I wouldn’t drink it every day. But it’s nice for an occasional treat. It literally tastes like cotton candy. The sprinkles are sugary (blending well with the softness of green rooibos) and brittle adds even more sweetness. Mango adds the tiniest hint of tartness, but overall it’s a very sweet tisane tea. Good for those who can’t have caffeine or a ton of sugar — it’s a nice treat for adults who want to bring out their inner child with the memory of cotton candy, while leaving out the guilt of all that sugar.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve had this tea, and if so, what you thought of it!
