I haven’t really been posting a lot lately, because I’ve been pretty busy, and was sick for part of this month, so I want to talk about something fun I did recently! Sunday was my 25th birthday. Aka the year of the quarter life crisis. I’m not super worried though because I feel like I’ve been going through that for a few years now. I had a great birthday though.
We finally got to enjoy dinner on top of the world — from 95 floors up at the Signature Room in the John Hancock Building. Damien planned to take me last year, but it was really windy and the restaurant closed last minute. I still ended up having a great dinner and night out for my 24th birthday, but I’m glad it worked out this year. This place seems kind of like a tourist spot, but it’s a great place for a fancy dinner, and even if you live in the city, it’s worthwhile to go here at least once.
Being up so high really puts things in perspective. I think it’s always important to see things from different points of view, whether visually, or socially. But seeing the city from so high was amazing. I’d been to the lookout before but it was really nice to sit and enjoy each others company and have a lot of time to look at the skyline while dining on delicious food.
Seeing the skyline change from sunset to nighttime was beautiful to watch. The Signature Room also has great food. I was so excited to eat my vegetarian chili and vegetable pot pie that I didn’t snap a photo, but it was super tasty! I ordered a drink called “the skyscraper,” mostly because I was really excited at the prospect of drinking a skyscraper while up in a skyscraper, but it was really good. They also gave me a complimentary scoop of birthday lime sorbet with my dinner that made me really happy, because it was so cute 🙂
I had a coupon for a free birthday cupcake at Sprinkles, so we headed over there after dinner. I also got a tasty red velvet, gluten-free cupcake. We also went to Argo Tea, before heading home for the night, and I got a green tea ginger twist, my favorite drink there.
My favorite part of the night, however, was spending time with my love, and while he kind of sat next to a wall, he said he had the best view from where he was sitting, as he looked at me and smiled. It was a great way to celebrate my 25th year on Earth 🙂
