Lately, life hasn’t been so easy. And when things get hard, it’s easy to fall in a slump and wallow. But with a little motivation and persistence, you can keep positive in the hard times. Whether the holidays are getting overwhelming, or you are dealing with any kind of hardship, it’s important to take care of yourself so you don’t get run down. Here are Life’s a Cup of Tea’s tips on how to feel better when the stress gets to be too much.
1. Exercise
Sometimes there is nothing you can do about a situation. When your mind is racing and you start feeling frustrated, go outside or jump on the treadmill. Exercise releases endorphins, which give you a natural high and help you feel better immediately.
2. Eat healthier
When you’re extremely busy and stressed, it’s easy to just pull up at Taco Bell on the way to your destination, or try to assemble a “meal” from the finds in your vending machine. But when you take the time to put together a healthy meal, you will be on your way to feeling better. Not only is it better for your insides, but eating healthy can improve your appearance as well.
3. Practice good sleep hygiene
As important as healthy eating and exercise are, without sleep, they mean nothing. Nowadays, it’s hard to relax and get good shut eye, with daily stresses and a wide array of electronic devices in each home. Make sure to step away from the technology and wind down for a better night’s sleep.
4. Read a book
One of the ways to relax more β and sleep better β is reading before bed. But regardless of the time of day, there’s nothing like a great book to help you escape. With so many genres to choose from, there’s something for everyone.
5. Enjoy a cup of tea
Nothing goes better with a book than a nice cup of tea β did you think this wouldn’t make my list? π With their aromatic quality, great tasty and warmth, tea can be a great stress relieving ritual to implement into your daily life. Herbals are great, and there are even specific teas for sleep and relaxation.
6. Go outside!
Getting in touch with nature helps you relax, and feel better. Enjoy the sunshine β or the clouds β and appreciate what this world has to offer outside of manmade things.
